The TC Williams hockey team defeated West Potomac 2-1 in a Shootout on Wednesday night. The Titans were down 1-0 entering the third period when Junior Owen Grainger scored the tying goal from the point. The teams stayed deadlocked at 1-1 as the game ended. Both teams had opportunities to win in the overtime, but Senior Jason Townsend ended the game in the fifth round of the shootout with a goal to send the Titans on to the Championship game. Freshman Hayden Martsching (MAR-ching) made 32 saves in regulation and 4 of 5 in the shootout to preserve the victory. The undefeated #1=seeded Titans will now play #2 Lake Braddock on Friday night at 7:40pm at the Prince William Ice Center. It's TC's third straight appearance in the Capital Scholastic Hockey League Championship Game, and the Titans look to bring the Cup back to Alexandria!
